25 November, 2006 : - - Dong Chong , China. - Small waves and  the hottest surfing ever to be seen in China ,greeted locals and surfers at Dong Chong beach near Shenzhen .From the beginning Toby Atkins  (UK) and Gabriel Neto (Brazil) looked totally at home in the testing conditions, and both progressed easily to the finals, and then battled to the hooter.

It became a  final of tactics ,with Atkins  ripping the best wave of the final , then getting starved on a decent second wave by the savvy, light-footed Neto, who showed a cool head to become the 2006 China Open winner.
